Writing Competition 2019 Entry Ebook

Writing Competition Ebook

The Competition

Writing Retreat Bali launched the Writing Competition 2019 in January. We asked you to pen 500-word scripts, poems, articles and short stories with the theme of courage. One lucky winner would be rewarded with the trip of a lifetime to join us at Writing Retreat Bali 2019. Our winner this year was Emily Devonald, and she’ll be joining us from Kuala Lumpur. 75 brave entries fired in from all magical corners of Planet Earth, and now you can read them all in this heartwarming ebook.

The Ebook

Poems from the soul. Poems from the dole. Indian mutinies and letters to dead lovers. Clowns losing their noses and knickers, and brave recollections of new paradigms found. We’ve not been stuck for a good read since and every entry brought something unexpected. Thank you to all who entered, all who thought about entering, all who shared it and those of you who simply cared.

SEA Scholarships

Aiming to inspire, empower, educate and provide a socio-professional platform for writers everywhere, Writing Retreat Bali wants to be accessible to regional writing talent. We’ve awarded two SEA Scholarships for Writing Retreat Bali for 2019, one to Aswathi Suresh in Singapore, and one to Maisha Rachmat from Jakarta. Both entered the Writing Competition 2019 and you can read their entries in this ebook. To support SEA Scholarships, please consider making a donation when you download your ebook.

Donations Are Easy

You can make a donation using all types of debit and credit cards, as well as PayPal. Your donation will support our SEA Scholarships programme where writers from SEA are able to attend WRB for free.
